S+B James Construction is a full-service design-build contractor delivering projects from concept through completion across healthcare, education, life sciences, commercial, retail, and more in California and Oregon. We seek an Estimator to join our Preconstruction team, developing accurate estimates and collaborating with clients, design teams, trade partners, and internal teams.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CM/CE/Architecture or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience in commercial estimating and preconstruction.
• Healthcare/DSAK-12 estimating experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of means, methods, sequencing, materials, and costs.
• Ability to read drawings and contract documents; solicitations experience.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; detail oriented.
• Proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, and estimation tools.

Responsabilidades

• Review and interpret project plans, specs, addenda to understand scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, equipment, and costs.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, GMP, negotiated, design-build, and hard-bid estimates.
• Evaluate project documents for scope gaps, constructability concerns, costs, risks and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain estimates throughout the design process with cost comparisons and VE options.
• Evaluate site logistics, sequencing, schedule requirements, productivity affecting costs.
• Participate in estimate reviews and bid day activities to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor'sdegreeinConstructionManagement,CivilEngineering,Architecture,orarelatedfieldpreferred;equivalentconstructionexperiencewillbeconsidered
