Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in South Bend, IN is seeking a Fine Arts & Education Lead to coordinate classes and events, support instructors, and maintain welcoming spaces for students.

This part-time role (29 hours/week) requires evening availability, strong communication, and the ability to work with diverse groups of children and families. Salary is $15/hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
• At least two years of related experience in education, fine arts, ministry, youth programming, or organizational support.
• Ability to lead groups and work positively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules for instructors, counselors, students, classes, lessons, and events.
• Develop and support programs in music, drama, dance, visual arts, and education.
• Help maintain staffing levels and Safe From Harm ratios.
• Provide coverage when instructors or counselors are unavailable.
• Assist with training and provide staff with materials and resources needed for successful programs.
• Communicate with parents and guardians regarding schedules, cancellations, student concerns, and account balances.
• Track attendance and reinforce student behavior expectations.
• Keep classrooms, music rooms, art spaces, and supply areas clean, safe, and organized.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-time, 29 hours per week,evening hours required

What You Will Do

• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft programs and the ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain The Salvation Army’s driver qualification standards.
• Must successfully complete a background check.
• Must complete Safe From Harm and CPR training within the first 30 days of employment.

Physical and Work Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods; bend, squat, and walk throughout program areas; and lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
