Job summary

The Porch in Tempe is hiring an Assistant Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef to lead a tight-knit kitchen team, oversee daily prep, cooking, and station setup, and ensure the highest quality of every dish.

You will work with the Kitchen Manager on menu changes, train staff, manage inventory and ordering, and help maintain a clean, efficient work environment across our Phoenix/Arcadia and Tempe locations.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook, lead cook, or sous chef.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and multitasking.
• Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist the Kitchen Manager in supervising the back-of-house staff.
• Assist in hiring and training kitchen staff.
• Contribute to menu changes, recipes, and presentation.
• Place select orders and manage inventory.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-organized kitchen.
• Prepare workstations for cooking and handle equipment.
• Check the quality of ingredients and cook with various techniques.
• Arrange food for appealing presentation and manage storage.
