Job summary

Restaurant Associates seeks an experienced Sous Chef to support a high‑end corporate dining account in Skillman, NJ. You will assist in cost controls, menu planning, and executing catering events within a premier client environment.

Ideal candidates bring a strong fine dining background, leadership experience, and a passion for quality, presentation, and guest experience. Culinary program rollouts and collaboration with marketing are part of the role.

Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Culinary background in fine dining, upscale restaurants, or other high‑end culinary operations.
• Strong culinary standards with a passion for quality, presentation, and guest experience.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Experience with catering and special events is highly desirable.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Professional, polished, and comfortable working directly within a premier client environment.
• Catering experience required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Must be experienced with computers; MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet

• Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Produces and execute catering events.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced culinary professional to support a high‑end, premier client account located in Skillman, NJ with a strong focus on exceptional food quality, presentation, and elevated hospitality.

The operation includes two full‑service cafés and catering, including occasional after‑hours cocktail parties and special events within a sophisticated client environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
• Assists the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
• Produces and execute catering events
• Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with Company marketing and culinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience
• Culinary background in fine dining, upscale restaurants, or other high‑end culinary operations
• Strong culinary standards with a passion for quality, presentation, and guest experience
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
• Ability to confidently lead the culinary operation in the absence of the Executive Chef
• Experience with catering and special events is highly desirable
• Bilingual skills are a plus
• Professional, polished, and comfortable working directly within a premier client environment
• Catering experience required
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
• Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities
• ServSafe certified - highly desirable
