Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI in San Francisco and is seeking a senior supply chain professional to own the steel category and manage fabrication capacity across regional shops. You will negotiate pricing, qualify fabricators, and balance load weekly to keep schedules on track.

You will apply your knowledge of fabrication economics, material costs, and margins while designing hedging strategies to mitigate commodity risk.

Qualifications

• You've sourced structural steel or fabricated steel assemblies at industrial volume.
• You understand fabrication economics: material, labor, coatings, and freight, and where each shop makes its margin.
• You've qualified fabrication shops and caught the capacity overstatements in their pitch.
• You manage commodity exposure with indexing or hedging rather than hoping.
• Bonus: AISC-certified fabrication networks. Modular construction. Weld quality programs. Logistics for oversize loads.

The Supply Chain Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

• Supply tens of gigawatts of compute, the largest build out of compute in history. Qualify and dual-source across every critical equipment category, with lead-time and capacity thresholds tied directly to the forward build pipeline.
• Make supply chain the reason we build faster than anyone. Our modular build redefines speed in this industry, and it lives or dies on supply chain. Keep procurement permanently off the critical path so schedule compression stays our advantage, not our constraint.
• Build the most accurate supply chain prediction modelling that exists. Use the frontier of AI to forecast lead times, demand, and disruption with a precision the industry has never had, and turn that foresight into a structural edge.
