Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Sourcing Manager to drive chemicals and contract manufacturing sourcing strategy from RFI/RFP through supplier award and Master Agreement implementation.

You will lead cost and service improvements with sourcing teams and cross-functional partners, managing supplier transitions and risk mitigation to ensure a secure supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in Sourcing in Life Sciences or related fields.
• Experience managing RFI/RFP through supplier award and contract negotiation.
• Knowledge of cost drivers and negotiation strategy development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute chemicals and contract manufacturing sourcing strategy from RFI/RFP to award and master agreement.
• Lead cost and service improvement initiatives with sourcing teams and cross-functional partners.
• Drive continuous improvement with key suppliers to achieve cost savings, reduce lead times and MOQ.
• Manage supplier transitions, cost-reduction projects, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify and mitigate risks to maintain secure supply.

The Sourcing Manageris responsible fordriving cost efficiencies, improving supplier performance, and risk mitigation plans across the supply chain. The sourcing manager will be instrumentalforaligning needed Chemical & Contract Manufacturing sourcing strategies with business objectives while ensuring long-term value creation.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing and is part of the Supply Chain and Ops Excellence organizationlocated in Torrance, CA. This will be a remote role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Drivethe development and execution of our Chemicals and Contract Manufacturing sourcing strategy from RFI / RFPcreation, leading supplier negotiations, global stakeholder management to business award and Master Agreement implementation.

• Serve as department lead on COST and SERVICE improvement initiatives working closely with each sourcing and purchasing associate, as well as cross-functional teams.

• Successfully lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives with key strategic suppliers in support of Business Transformation goals: cost savings, lead-time and minimum order quantity reduction, increased inventory turns, and improved processes, etc.

• Lead, manage, and influence projects to successful completion. (ie Supplier transitions, Cost reduction initiatives).

• Identify and execute risk mitigation and security of supply strategies that will prevent disruption of critical supply.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or Logistics. MBA, a plus

• Minimum 5 years in Sourcing in Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical industry or Consumer Packaged Goods CHEMICAL sourcing industry preferred.

• Experience w/ managing RFI /RFP workflow through to Supplier Business award and Contract Negotiation required

• Knowledge and understanding of cost drivers and ability to apply within negotiations, development of strategies and embarking upon cost improvement opportunities.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role

• Ability to travel approx. 10- 20% with overnight stay.

It would be a plus if you also possessprevious experience in:

• 2-3 year Indirect Sourcing experience with MRO/Facilities, IT, Marketing spend preferred

• Manufacturing Environments, Lean Thinking Principles, Operational Finance, Strategic Planning and/or Logistics experience a plus.

• 2 years of Project Management experience within a Supply Chain organization a plus.

The salary range for this role is$88,900 - $125,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
