WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technically complex commodities including soft goods, plastic injection molding, casting, machining, forging, tooling, electronic and other engineered components.
  • Support market analysis and supplier identification through RFQ, supplier evaluation, negotiation, qualification and final supplier approval.
  • Follow and enforce Galvion's Sourcing Gate process, ensuring all required technical, commercial, quality, capacity, trade compliance and risk-assessment steps are completed before a supplier is approved and awarded business.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions are supported by documented gate review, cross-functional alignment and clear approval criteria at each stage of the sourcing process.
  • Develop cost, supplier and risk analysis focused on total cost of ownership, competitiveness, capacity and supply chain resilience.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, dual sourcing, localization and supplier consolidation.
Supplier Development & Industrialization
  • Assess supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, capacity and scalability.
  • Lead supplier qualification, production readiness, tooling reviews, FATs and new supplier industrialization in collaboration with Engineering, Quality and Operations.
  • Develop and monitor supplier improvement plans covering cost, quality, delivery and capacity.
Engineering & New Product Introduction
  • Partner closely with Product Engineering and Product Design to source and industrialize new products, components and manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing requirements and translate them into clear supplier requirements.
  • Support DFM, tooling and manufacturing process discussions to optimize cost, quality and manufacturability.
Strategic Supplier Selection & Commercial Management
  • Support the evaluation and selection of strategic suppliers, balancing technical capability, quality, cost competitiveness, capacity, flexibility, scalability, geographic risk and long-term strategic fit.
  • Lead complex RFQs and negotiate commercial agreements that secure the right long-term partner for Galvion, including pricing, lead times, capacity commitments, tooling, MOQs, payment terms and other key commercial conditions.
  • Develop long-term supply agreements and partnership structures that provide competitive pricing while securing sufficient capacity, flexibility and responsiveness to support Galvion's growth over the coming years.
  • Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and establish clear expectations around capacity growth, continuous improvement, quality, delivery and cost competitiveness.
International Sourcing & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Knowledge of country specific sourcing practices, market conditions, trade requirements and relevant regulatory considerations.
  • Support cross-functional sourcing projects involving Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance and Product Development.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–8+ years of experience in mechanical product engineering, sourcing, and supplier development.
  • Strong knowledge of key commodities—including soft goods, plastic injection molding, electronics, castings, machining, forging, and tooling manufacturing—paired with demonstrated experience managing technically complex suppliers.
  • Experience working directly with international suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams, supported by a strong understanding of trade compliance requirements and a willingness to travel internationally.
  • Proficiency in PLM systems (such as Arena), Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel, alongside basic knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Fluency in English with exceptional communication, presentation, and cross-functional influence skills, including experience interacting with senior leadership.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment with a continuous improvement mindset and strong project leadership abilities.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and risk management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost and total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) analysis.
