Job description

Accenture helps the world’s leading enterprises reinvent by building their digital core and unleashing the power of AI to create value at speed for organizations across industries. Our strategy is to be the reinvention partner of choice for our clients and lead in the safe, widespread adoption of AI, and to be the most client-focused, AI-enabled, great place to work in the world. We bring together the talent of our approximately 799,000 people with proprietary assets and platforms, deep process and industry expertise, and leading ecosystem relationships to deliver end-to-end solutions and measurable outcomes at scale. Through our Reinvention Services, we offer broad expertise across Cybersecurity, Digital Core, Finance, Industry and Enterprise, Song, Supply Chain and Engineering, and Talent, with advanced capabilities in AI and Data, Industry and Process, and Technology. We serve approximately 9,000 clients and generated approximately $70 billion in FY25 revenue. Visit us at accenture.com.

We are:

Sourcing & Procurement, and we move fast, think fast, and work fast. Our clients need big-picture change, so we come at their challenges from all sides with functional insights, data power, digital leadership, and extensive industry know-how. It’s our job to show clients how to take major leaps forward in cost-out, strategic category management, and procurement operations.

You are:

A Sourcing and Procurementprofessional who helps clients develop strategies and operating models to advance procurement capabilities and drive bottom-line financial impact. You use your data skills to develop and implement strategies that improve the value and performance delivered by clients’ supply base, while establishing strategic procurement category plans and processes to sustain long-term value. You’ve also got the communication skills to make sure that everyone understands your ideas and how to get them working as quickly as possible. Your experience means that people look to you for guidance and ideas. And you know how to make sure teams get their work done on time, every time.

The Work:

This is not a consulting role. It is not a project delivery role. It is not a research position. A Forward Deployed AI Engineer is a production engineer who works embedded inside a client's enterprise, shoulder to shoulder with their teams, to make complex AI platforms work in real, messy organizational environments. You own outcomes: time-to-value, adoption, reliability, and scalability. Not delivery milestones. Outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead enterprise AI platform deployments across complex multi-stakeholder client environments — Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, SAP, or Palantir — owning the full programme from architecture through adoption, including Sourcing & Procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, or Jaggaer
  • Own programme-level delivery outcomes: time-to-value, reliability, adoption velocity, and scalability across multiple concurrent workstreams, with commercial metrics attached
  • Lead rapid experimentation at pace: drive ambiguous business problems to working production systems in days or weeks across complex enterprise environments
  • Architect and govern enterprise AI solutions across the full technology stack: identity, data, security, governance, platform layer, and multi-system workflow integration at programme scale
  • Shape AI reinvention strategy for client CTO, CFO, and CISO: build value architecture, ROI backlogs, use case prioritisation frameworks, and multi-year AI adoption roadmaps; engage CPOs and Chief Procurement Officers on AI-enabled procurement transformation strategies, connecting cost-out objectives to scalable AI architectures
  • Define and publish reusable reinvention blueprints, patterns, and accelerators that scale across multiple client engagements and grow the FDE practice
  • Lead architecture design sessions, executive workshops, and code-with sessions with client engineering and C-suite leadership teams
  • Codify delivery learnings, failure patterns, and engineering standards that shape the FDE practice and enable the next generation of forward deployed engineers
  • Design and deploy AI-powered procurement solutions including autonomous sourcing agents, intelligent supplier risk monitoring, predictive spend analytics, and contract lifecycle automation within enterprise environments
  • Translate S&P functional requirements — strategic sourcing, category management, procure-to-pay, supplier performance — into scalable AI architectures and production-ready agentic workflows
Travel Requirements:

Travel is required for this role and could vary up to 75%

Here’s what you need:
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with cloud-native systems, including APIs, microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience designing and deploying agentic solutions (agents, orchestration, context engineering, RAG, workflows) in production environments
  • Minimum of 3 years of deep expertise with AI platforms (OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI, or open-source models), including building abstraction layers for multi-provider pipelines
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience leading software engineering teams, including delivery oversight, resource allocation, and professional development of direct reports
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience)
Bonus Points if:
  • Demonstrated end-to-end delivery ownership in a client-embedded environment
  • Experience leading enterprise AI deployments across multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience managing and developing engineering teams, including performance management and development planning
  • Experience working with enterprise AI platforms such as Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, SAP, or Palantir
  • Experience defining enterprise AI architecture across identity, data, security, governance, and multi-system integrations
  • Experience working directly with senior stakeholders (CTO, CFO, CISO) on AI strategy and investment decisions
  • Experience leading executive workshops, architecture design sessions, or cross-functional technical engagements
  • Experience working within or deploying AI solutions for Sourcing & Procurement functions, including familiarity with strategic sourcing, category management, procure-to-pay processes, or supplier management platforms
  • Familiarity with S&P technology ecosystems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, Ivalua, Jaggaer, or equivalent) and the data and integration patterns common to procurement environments
  • Experience in the High Tech industry, including semiconductors, software, hardware, or electronics manufacturing — with an understanding of complex global supply chains, component sourcing, contract manufacturing, and the speed-to-market pressures unique to High Tech procurement and supply chain environments.
