Job summary

Georgia-Pacific LLC is seeking a Sourcing Analyst to support category managers and sourcing leaders in developing strategies, preparing for supplier negotiations, and evaluating proposals.

You will partner with GP businesses, facilities, finance and other sourcing teams to turn data into actionable insights for RFx events, supplier awards and continuous improvement. This onsite role is hybrid at GP Center in Atlanta, GA.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, analytics, process improvement, finance, operations, or related function.

Responsibilities

  • Develop category fact base with data like spend, volumes, specs, potential suppliers, and pricing.
  • Partner with Category Owners to understand needs, market dynamics, and opportunities.
  • Develop RFx templates to capture inputs for evaluating cost, service, risk, and value.
  • Support RFx events via Ariba including setup, supplier communication, and bid collection.
  • Summarize supplier responses to compare cost, service, risk, and requirements.
  • Develop supplier award scenarios balancing cost savings, supply, and business needs.
  • Present findings clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identify pricing gaps, drivers, and opportunities to support negotiations.
  • Collaborate across teams to align on recommendations and transition to execution.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, accounting, analytics, business, engineering, or a related field

Job description

As a Sourcing Analyst, you will support category managers and sourcing leaders as they develop sourcing strategies, prepare for supplier negotiations, and evaluate supplier proposals. You will partner closely with stakeholders across GP businesses, facility operations, finance, market insights, and other sourcing teams to understand business requirements, operational constraints, supplier capabilities, and changing market conditions.

This role will be responsible for helping turn sourcing data into actionable insights that support RFx events, supplier award decisions, negotiation strategies, and continuous improvement across the sourcing process.

This is an onsite role based at GP Center in Atlanta, GA, with a hybrid schedule of in‑office and work‑from‑home days.

Georgia‑Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) organization is responsible for sourcing and delivering the raw materials, energy, equipment, parts, finished goods and services that our businesses require — on time, at the right total cost and value, aligned to company financial objectives. SS&P directly supports our manufacturing teams by executing prioritized, facility and business level strategies that capture the full value of what we buy.

Contribute to the Development of an Optimal Go-To-Market Strategy
  • Gather and organize data to build a category fact base, including product descriptions, historical spend, volumes, specifications, potential suppliers, current pricing, and business requirements.
  • Partner with Category Owners and cross‑functional stakeholders to understand operational needs, technical requirements, market dynamics, and upcoming contract or sourcing opportunities.
  • Work closely with Category Owners to develop RFx templates that capture the key supplier inputs needed to evaluate cost, service, capabilities, risk, and overall value.
Sourcing Event Management
  • Support the execution of RFx events through eSourcing tools such as Ariba, including event setup, supplier communication, bid collection, and event administration.
  • Analyze supplier offers beyond price, including rebates, payment terms, freight, service capabilities, price change mechanisms, capacity, and other commercial or operational factors.
  • Develop clear summaries of supplier responses to help category teams understand the trade‑offs between cost, service, risk, and business requirements.
Decision Support & Recommendations
  • Partner with Category Leaders and stakeholders to develop supplier award scenarios that balance cost savings, supply assurance, operational needs, market risk, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Present findings in a clear, concise, and actionable format for Category Owners, sourcing leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • Support the development of negotiation strategies by identifying supplier pricing gaps, market opportunities, cost drivers, and areas of leverage.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gain alignment on final recommendations, business impacts, and implementation considerations.
  • Help document the rationale behind sourcing recommendations and support the transition from analysis to execution teams.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify opportunities to improve sourcing processes, analytical methods, RFx templates, reporting, and standard ways of working.
  • Leverage the team’s expertise to share best practices on RFx management across the organization.
  • Help identify emerging analysis techniques, including AI‑enabled tools and automation strategies, to transform how the team supports category management and sourcing decisions.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve stakeholder experience, supplier evaluation quality, and the overall effectiveness of sourcing recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, analytics, process improvement, finance, operations, or a related business function
  • Ability to self‑manage work, identify project expectations, define key action items, and drive stakeholder alignment and approvals
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manage, analyze, and summarize large datasets
  • Experience developing clear and effective presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Ability to organize complex information and translate data into actionable business insights
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional stakeholders and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize findings, explain trade‑offs, and support decision‑making
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, finance, accounting, analytics, business, engineering, or a related field
  • Experience supporting or conducting the Source‑to‑Contract process in SAP Ariba or a similar eSourcing tool
  • Experience supporting RFx events, supplier bid evaluations, sourcing strategy development, or supplier negotiations
  • Experience with advanced Excel capabilities, including AI Tools, complex formulas, macros, or VBA
  • Experience using analytics visualization or automation tools such as Python, SQL, Qlik, or similar platforms
  • Experience working with large datasets to identify trends, build models, evaluate scenarios, or generate recommendations
  • Experience identifying and implementing improvements to a data‑centric process
