Job summary

Verify, Inc. is seeking a Source Inspector to travel to supplier facilities in the Minneapolis area for visual and dimensional inspections of machined parts and assemblies. The role requires extensive GD&T knowledge and experience interpreting drawings and POs.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in aerospace/defense QA, proficiency with micrometers and calipers, and familiarity with First Article Inspections per AS9102. This is a part-time 1099 contract based in Minneapolis, MN.

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience with hand on inspection experience.
• 7+ years experience in quality within aerospace/defense.
• 7+ years experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings and POs.
• Experience using micrometers and calipers.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ANSI Y14.5 or equivalent.
• Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 is highly desired.

Job Description:

The quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer via web application.

Requirements:

• Candidate must have 7+ years experience with hands-on on inspection experience and 7+ years experience working in quality arena within the aerospace or defense industry.
• Candidate must have 7+ years experience practical experience performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and/or sub-assemblies. The inspections will be performed to engineering requirements specified per ANSI Y14.5 – Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) or equivalent standard.
• Candidate must have 7+ years experience reading/interpreting engineering drawings and Purchase Orders (POs).
• Candidate must have 7+ years experience using various mechanical inspection tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
• Candidate must have 7+ years experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance to the AS9102 standard and knowledge of applicable industry standards like IPC-A-610 or equivalent is highly desired.
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience performing inspections in aerospace or military/defense manufacturing with proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
