Job summary

Verify Incorporated in California seeks a Source Inspector to travel to supplier facilities and perform visual and dimensional inspections on aerospace parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies. You will verify conformance to drawings and purchase orders, and report results via a web application.

Ideal candidates have extensive aerospace experience, strong written communication and proficiency with MS Word and Excel. Travel and field inspections are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings per ANSI Y14.5.
• Extensive knowledge of aerospace components and assemblies across structures, machined parts, fasteners, castings and forgings, engines and hydraulics.
• Excellent writing and communication skills; proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

Overview

Position: Source Inspector

Position Overview:

The mechanical quality inspector shall travel to various supplier facilities to perform visual and dimensional inspections on manufactured parts, assemblies, and / or sub-assemblies. Parts will be inspected according to engineering drawings, customer purchase order(s), industry standards, and specifications. The inspector will be required to report inspection accept/reject information directly to the customer via web application. Must have direct Aerospace work experience. (i.e. aircraft mfg, detail fabrication, machined parts, etc.)

Skills and Abilities:

• The ability to understand complex engineering drawings and specifications per ANSI-Y 14.5)

• Extensive broad-ranging aircraft commodity knowledge and experience encompassing structures, mechanical assemblies, precision machined parts, sheet metal parts, fasteners, castings and forgings, engines, hydraulics, electrical components, electrical systems, avionics, raw materials, and consumables.
• Good writing and communication skills.

• Good writing and communication skills. Must have proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in the aircraft industry performing product verification and supplier surveillance tasks.
• Must be familiar with First Article Inspections and Flight Safety Products.
• Experience with Digital Data - reading/interpreting only.
• Must have a working cell phone
• Must have personal computer with e-mail and internet access
• Must pass the Basic Mechanical Test with a score of 80% or higher
