Job summary

JMI Resource (formerly 5-Star Staffing Solutions) is hiring for a Warehouse Material Sorter in Fort Myers, FL. The role involves sorting recycled material from a conveyor belt, maintaining accurate sorting at a fast pace, and assisting with cleaning of machinery.

Qualifications

POSITION:

Warehouse Material Sorter.

PAY:

$14-14.35/per hour.

HOURS:

Mon-Fri (Occasional Saturdays)

6am-2:30pm (1st shift)

3:30pm-12 am (2nd shift)

We are looking for Candidates interested in joining our team of Recycle Materials Sorters. This is an opportunity to train and grow in the recycling industry. No Experience is Required.

Job Overview

This position involves primarily sorting and separating recycled materials from a conveyor belt. Expected to maintain a fast-paced work environment, handling several hundred items per hour while ensuring proper sorting and placement of materials.

Responsibilities

• Sort recycled material from a conveyor belt at a recycling facility.
• Assist with cleaning of machinery and work area.
• Must be physically able to sort recycled material by category as it goes through a conveyor belt.
• Requires repeated motion.
• Involves strenuous physical exertion at a constant pace for 8 to 10 hours.
• Work environment - airborne dust and dirt particles, along with various climatic temperatures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to constantly lift, climb stairs and onto equipment,
• Knowledge and ability to work safely in a team environment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Hearing and Visual ability.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in airborne dust and dirt particles, with various climatic temperatures.
• Must wear Employer-provided personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.
• Must wear 6" high steel/composite toe boots that meet OSHA standards ASTM F2413-18.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance.
• Possess fast reflexes and unimpaired coordination.
• Ability to perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment.
• Ability to work overtime and some weekends when required.
