Job summary

Smurfit WestRock plc is seeking a Production Supervisor for our Portland, OR recycling facility. You will oversee the sort line, assign tasks, and promote a safe environment while coordinating with supervisors to ensure tasks are carried out correctly.

You will lead a team, manage daily production schedules, facilitate safety briefings, and ensure adherence to quality standards. OSHA training or recycling experience are a plus; excellent attendance is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos.
• Experience in supervising a group of coworkers preferred.
• Ability to read safety rules and training documents.
• Basic arithmetic and multitasking capability.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Lead coworkers with schedules, training, productivity and discipline.
• Oversee daily production schedule and floor activity.
• Facilitate morning safety meetings with team.
• Be knowledgeable of machinery and assist sorters for throughput.
• Ensure quality systems meet customer specs.
• Maintain workspace organization to increase efficiency.
• Fill in on equipment when coworkers are absent.
• Promote a strong safety culture.
