Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a vascular/echo technician at the Methodist Physicians Clinic in Omaha. Responsibilities include coordinating and performing vascular or cardiac procedures, acquiring and routing images for physician interpretation, and educating patients before procedures.
The role requires ARDMS registration or eligibility, a 2-year vascular/echocardiogram program, and 2 years of related experience.

Job Summary:

Work Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am - 4:30pm, 24hrs/week
Coordinates and performs vascular procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates and performs cardiac or vascular procedures according to the department policy and procedures approved by the Medical Director and pertinent governing body using digital imaging.
2. Obtains accurate patient history, appropriate indications for the study and critical measurements for physician's interpretation.
3. Acquires all images digitally and assigns the images to a physician for final interpretation.
4. Educates the patient on procedure that is being performed BEFORE the procedure begins and checks for understanding from patient.
5. Log each patient on log sheet and bill appropriately in Cerner following the procedure.
6. Give critical lab results to the ordering department and instruct them to read back the results for clarification and understanding per department policy.
7. Collaborates in maintaining proper inventory and works with Information Technology (IT) and Bio-Med when equipment or system goes down.
8. Provides appropriate care specific to the patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment is provided as outlined by the age specific criteria guidelines.
