Job description

Role: Sonographer in Ultrasound and Vascular Technology

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging, including OB/GYN, abdominal, neonatal, arterial, venous, carotid, and graft imaging, accurately identifying pathology and anatomy.
• Recognize normal vs. abnormal findings, ensuring timely and precise diagnostics.
• Conduct biopsy procedures of the thyroid and perform critical care requests within departmental guidelines.
• Operate imaging systems such as PACS and Radiographic Information System, maintaining equipment and work area cleanliness.
• Assist in training new staff and participate in peer interviews and departmental activities.
• Ensure patient care standards are met, considering age-specific needs and growth/development factors.
• Support operational efficiency by contributing to process improvements and managing departmental communications.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School diploma or GED, with successful completion of an approved ultrasound program.
• ARDMS certification required, along with BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Ability to work independently, support team efforts, and maintain strong patient and staff relationships.

Additional Duties

Support departmental policies, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and uphold safety and standard precautions.
