Job Summary

Perform sonography in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Location and Schedule

UCHealth Women’s Care Pikes Peak – Colorado Springs, CO. Part Time, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks). Onsite role, no hybrid or remote option.

Compensation

$40.40 – $56.56 per hour, dependent on relevant experience.

Responsibilities
  • Review patient history, physician’s orders, and handle scheduling.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice as ordered.
  • Monitor patient condition continually and report/respond to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implement safety standards and perform appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and/or report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyze results and identify issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Take appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results.
  • May work with radiology students.
  • Apply critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure if required by law.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
