Job summary

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital seeks an experienced sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and related procedures, ensuring high-quality images for interpretation. ALL benefits start on day one and the role supports patient care in a fast-paced radiology environment.

The qualified candidate will be ARDMS-certified or eligible, maintain BLS, and collaborate with Radiology staff to deliver accurate exams and safe patient care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets ARDMS eligibility guidelines.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
  • Must be registered through ARDMS within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
  • Exhibits professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor aligned with quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adheres to Baptist Health mission statements and excellence standards.
  • Assesses patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Positions patient, equipment, and devices to obtain high quality images.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality and proper annotation.
  • Participates in Quality Control tasks and safety protocols.
  • Assists in supervision of student sonographers and training of new staff.

Position SummaryProvides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.

  • Performs proper patientidentification,acquires patient’s clinical history, and assuresthatthe information is accurately documented.
  • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulatestechnical factorsto achieve high quality imagesfor interpretation.
  • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
  • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personalprotective equipmentto prevent cross-contaminationof contagious diseases.
  • Assists in supervision ofstudent sonographers and training of new sonographers.
  • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures safety of all customers.
  • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies,the ADA, FMLA and otherfederal,state and localstandards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies andprocedures.

Other Related Functions

  • Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintains well stocked and organized work areas.
  • May be required to work at any facility
  • Provides patient transport.
Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.

Licensure/Certification

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)registered through the American Registry ofDiagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
  • Maintains ARDMS physics registry and one ARDMS registry
  • Must be registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within twelve (12) months of hire

Experience

  • Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures and routinely demonstrates competency in performing ultrasound examinations pertinent to department.
