Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Medical Group is seeking a Diagnostic Ultrasound professional to perform ultrasound studies and echocardiography with high-quality imaging for patient care. The role involves preparation, patient education, and coordination with interpreting physicians in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a CAAHEP-accredited program or substantial diagnostic ultrasound experience, a valid BLS certificate, and familiarity with PACS and IAC guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required or 5 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (expiration valid 60 days from start date).
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request.
• Performs technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis.
• Provide high quality imaging.
• Acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings.
• Review physician orders to verify appropriateness.
• Retrieve studies from PACS for review.
• Perform infection control processes.
• Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety.
• Address patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies.
• Prepare patients for the study.
• Support IAC Standards and Guidelines.
• Assure accuracy of data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information.
• Support team approach and service orientation within the department.

• Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician
• Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed
• Retrieve studies from PACS for review
• Perform appropriate infection control processes
• Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety
• Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies
• Prepare patients for the study
• Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
• Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports
• Support team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a 'team approach' to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED Required
• Graduation from a CAAHEP or other accredited diagnostic ultrasound program required or 5 years of diagnostic ultrasound experience

License/Certification:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (BLS expiration date must be valid 60 days from the start date)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Preferred
