Job summary

SCR St. Claire Medical Center, Inc. is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform comprehensive imaging across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings.

You will conduct abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and small parts exams, assist with ultrasound-guided procedures, and maintain current credentials to meet accreditation standards. Qualifications

Job Summary

Responsible for performing comprehensive ultrasound imaging in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Conducts a wide range of sonographic exams including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, small parts, vascular, and pediatric-specific studies. Assists with ultrasound-guided procedures and musculoskeletal imaging as needed. Maintains current professional credentials to ensure compliance with accreditation standards. Ensures diagnostic imaging to support accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.

Essential Functions
  • Performs a wide variety of ultrasound/echo exams and consistently obtains diagnostic-quality imaging.
  • Adapts imaging techniques and clinical interactions to meet each patient’s specific needs.
  • Reviews orders, verifies patient identity, and obtains and documents clinical history.
  • Explains procedures to patients and families, providing physical and psychological support.
  • Operates and maintains ultrasound equipment, demonstrating effective knobology and assisting during procedures, including urgent and surgical cases.
  • Adheres to all enterprise and departmental policies, protocols, and infection control standards, including equipment cleaning, disinfection, and safety requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records, completes required documentation, and manages electronic systems and departmental paperwork.
  • Maintains current credentials, certifications, and continuing education requirements, and adheres to professional appearance standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

High school diploma and graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.

Experience Requirement

0–2 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part-time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures

Basic Life Support (BLS), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

Physical Demands
