Job summary

Inland Imaging is seeking a Sonographer I to perform high quality ultrasound exams in the outpatient setting, including abdomen, OB/GYN, breast, vascular, pediatric, and MSK. The role supports radiologists, traverses multiple departments, and requires on-call availability with travel across worksites.

The ideal candidate has ARDMS certification, a strong understanding of ultrasound examinations, and is capable of cross-functional collaboration with a focus on patient safety and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform high quality ultrasound exams per protocol and radiologist approval.

• Maintain patient medical history accuracy and proper coding in systems.
• Utilize Medicalis & PACS for prior studies and patient check-in tracking.

$36.95 - $55.43

Job Description:

The Sonographer I is a Supplemental position and will fill in for vacation and sick calls at Sacred Heart Medical Center. This position is eligible for a 10% Sacred Heart and 12% supplemental differential.

Summary: To obtain the safest and highest quality diagnostic sonography exams for image documentation of anatomy and pathology and interpretation by a radiologist, per established Inland Imaging guidelines and protocols.

• Performs high quality ultrasound exams that are consistently approved by radiologists and to the accepted protocol.
• Performs various sonography exams, including abdomen/small parts, breast, OBGYN, vascular, pediatric and musculoskeletal.
• Assists radiologists with interventional procedures.
• Accurately obtains and records patient medial history
• Demonstrates proficiency at utilizing Medicalis & PACS in locating prior reports/studies pertinent to exams being done.
• Utilizes Medicalis to track patient check-in/availability and accurately codes procedures.
• Calls patients and providers to clarify exams, indications, referrals, patient preparatory information and general questions.
• Arrives to all on-call assignments within 30-minutes of being contacted
• Assists in the transportation of patients as needed
• Coordinates patient care between departments to facilitate a smooth workflow
• Works in clinical outpatient setting but may cover in a hospital setting at times.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Clinics

• Perform a variety of outpatient examinations which may include:
  • Abdominal (renal, thyroid, scrotal, hernias, etc.)
  • OBGYN (pelvis, 1st-3rd trimester obstetrics, anatomical evaluations, fetal well-being assessments, etc.)
  • Pediatrics (brain, head, spine, hips, pylorus, appendix, etc.)
  • Musculoskeletal (muscles, tendons, joints, soft tissue mass, etc.)
• Assist with interventional musculoskeletal procedures

Qualifications:

• Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Accredited Sonography Program to pass the ARDMS

• Experience: One year of experience as a sonographer is preferred

  • Anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Understanding of ultrasound examinations is required.
  • Must be able to take call as needed
  • EPIC experience preferred and training available for extensive knowledge of electronic health record

• Registration: Must have successfully passed ARDMS ultrasound registration examination

  • Must pass ARDMS boards within 12 months of Technologist being trained, working independently and signed off with a current competency checklist

• Certifications: Current CPR/BLS required

• Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Microsoft Office Suite; Workday; Qgenda, Medicalis; Philips Intellispace; EPIC, Viewpoint; Internet/Intranet, Webex

• Background Check:

  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
  • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
