Job summary

Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI is seeking a SONOGRAPHER- GENERAL/ECHO to join our VASCULAR/ECHO team. The Echocardiographer-Vascular Technologist performs complex imaging procedures and provides diagnostic evidence to support final diagnoses.

Responsibilities include high-quality ultrasound imaging, accurate data entry, and timely delivery of completed exams, with an emphasis on quality control and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • ARDMS RDCS or RVT credential.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Site specific competencies in protocols, equipment, computer systems and applications.

  • Communicates with providers, nurses, and clinic staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for accurate patient information on all images, radiology requisitions and in PACS; delivers completed exams.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and needed repairs; ensures maintenance and repairs are completed promptly.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of test standards to perform quality control tests on equipment and records results.

Job description

Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI is seeking a SONOGRAPHER- GENERAL/ECHO to join our VASCULAR/ECHO team!

The Echocardiographer-Vascular Technologist performs complex imaging procedures while exercising professional judgment in the performance of services. Demonstrates the ability to obtain high-quality diagnostic images and analyze the findings. Provides the radiologist or ordering provider with diagnostic evidence along with pertinent clinical information, in order for a final diagnosis to be made.

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures demonstrating quality images for interpreting physician. Contributing technical, professional knowledge and observation to aid in the final diagnostic impression when necessary.
  • Communicates with providers, nurses, and clinic staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for accurate patient information on all images, radiology requisitions and in the PACS. Delivers completed exams.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and needed repairs. Ensures necessary maintenance and repairs are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of test standards to adequately perform quality control tests on assigned equipment. Records and reports results to appropriate personnel.

HOURS: As needed or as able based on coverage needed for vacations and scheduling gaps

Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of standards and procedures as they relate to ultrasound normally acquired through graduation from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • One or more years of clinical ultrasound experience is preferred but not required.
  • ARDMS RDCS or RVT
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
  • Site specific competencies in protocols, equipment, computer systems and applications.
