Job summary

AdventHealth Celebration in Florida is seeking an ultrasound professional to perform echocardiography and vascular imaging with high-quality scans and accurate documentation for physician interpretation.

The role requires RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS certification or eligibility, an associate's in cardiovascular sonography, and BLS. This full-time position offers day shifts with weekend coverage and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in cardiovascular sonography (preferred).
• Registered or eligible in RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS certifications (preferred).
• 1+ relevant experience in echocardiography/vascular imaging preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex echocardiography and vascular ultrasound studies.
• Obtain high-quality scans and adapt procedures to patient needs.
• Document findings, enter data into patient records, and communicate with physicians.
• Assist with scheduling, insurance verification, and billing activities.
• Maintain department safety, cleanliness, and supply inventory.

Job Description:

• Performs routine and complex studies, in addition to assisting with a variety of imaging procedures.
• Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus.
• Adapts procedure to each patient’s medical situation obtaining all available necessary information for proper interpretation.
• Enters testing conditions, observations, test results, and patient demographic information into patient records.
• Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies the physicians of procedures to be interpreted.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing, and reimbursement activities.
• Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment while manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other departmental regions.
• Maintains supply inventory and restocks to maintain proper operating levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to perform a full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures. [Required]
• Must be able to operate all ultrasound systems in the assigned department and utilize the measurement package for measuring and calculating to determine anatomy, function, and status according to standard of care. [Required]
• Must be able to recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology. [Required]
• Ability to effectively communicate and explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner. [Required]
• Basic EKG Knowledge. [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other departmental regions. [Required]
• Up-to-date knowledge to appropriately interpret image data and consequently determine which images to save and which to discard. [Required]
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare industry. [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English. [Required]
• Must be able to perform basic mathematic skills. [Required]
• Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision. [Required]
• Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to address age-appropriate considerations relating to the communication and safety needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]
• Proficiency in pediatric echocardiography [Preferred]
• Proficiency in transesophageal echocardiography [Preferred]
• Knowledge of principles and practices of echocardiography. [Required]

Licenses and Certifications:
