Job summary

Zoo, based in Los Angeles, seeks a Solutions Engineer to partner with the sales team and customers on how Zoo can address technical requirements. You will push deals forward, overcome objections, and ensure a smooth post-sale transition, driving adoption of Zoo’s tools across customer teams.

You’ll need deep knowledge of the hardware design ecosystem, APIs, and MCP, plus hands-on AI tools like Codex, to craft ROI-driven solutions and compelling demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in a customer-facing engineering role, supporting technical sales to large enterprise customers.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Familiarity with CAD software and AI tools like Codex.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Zoo customers and guarantee success of their use cases built on top of Zoo’s APIs.
• Develop a deep understanding of Zoo products and how to position with customers.
• Build highly interactive customer demonstrations to educate potential customers and share best practices on integration.
• Collect requirements and provide guidance to apply Zoo products to achieve customer goals.
• Partner with the team to translate prospect feedback into product insights.
• Work closely with sales to jointly close new enterprise customers.
• Guide new enterprise customers through proof-of-concept projects with ROI focus.
• Assist sales as the technical expert to close deeper commercial deals after a POC.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer to partner with our sales team and prospective customers on how Zoo can best address their use cases and technical requirements. We believe in a world full of modern software tools for hardware design that allow anyone to develop solutions on top of our infrastructure. You will be responsible for proactively pushing deals forward by overcoming technical objections and positioning Zoo solutions that align with customer objectives. You will ensure a successful transition to the post-sale stage of the customer lifecycle, and partner with customer teams and internal teams to drive adoption of new products by existing customers. You will be expected to have significant knowledge of the hardware design ecosystem, software development, and a deep understanding of how customers can best utilize Zoo’s products.

What You’ll Do

• Engage with Zoo customers and guarantee success of their specific use cases built on top of Zoo’s APIs
• Develop a deep understanding of Zoo products and how to position with customers
• Build highly interactive and engaging customer demonstrations in order to educate potential customers and share best practices on integration throughout the sales cycle
• Collect requirements, and provide guidance and best practices to apply Zoo products and technologies to achieve customers' business goals
• Partner with our team to translate prospect feedback into meaningful product insights
• Work closely with sales to jointly close new enterprise customers
• Guide new Zoo enterprise customers, helping them execute impactful proof-of-concept projects with a focus on revealing ROI-driven results
• Assist sales as the technical expert to close deeper commercial production deals after a proof-of-concept concludes

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Demonstrated experience in a customer facing engineering role, with a track record of supporting technical sales to large enterprise customers
• Ability to understand customers’ workflows, requirements, and decision processes, then translate those insights into effective technical solutions
• Ability to lead technical evaluations and manage requirements, next steps, and follow-through across multiple accounts
• Comfort working across a range of enterprise customers through technical, security, and compliance requirements, including handling ITAR-controlled data under established procedures
• Knowledge of CAD software
• General engineering acumen with a practical understanding of APIs and the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Codex
• Sound technical judgment and the ability to explain current capabilities, limitations, and potential roadmap solutions without overpromising
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage executives and explain complex technical concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences

Salary Range

Salary Range for this role is provided below. The final offer will depend on multiple factors including candidate experience, skills, expertise, and market data. Compensation may vary by geography. In addition to salary, we offer competitive equity as well as a full benefits package which may vary by geography as well.

$120,000—$170,000 USD
