Solution Engineer (Pre-Sales)Location: Boston, MA

About the Position

Our client is a leading platform in the observability space, offering cutting-edge solutions that enable businesses to optimize their data processes. By leveraging advanced architecture, the platform provides in-stream analytics that minimize reliance on traditional indexing and storage methods. The platform supports comprehensive monitoring of logs, metrics, traces, and security events, with features like APM, RUM, SIEM, and Kubernetes monitoring to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

The Solution Engineer plays a crucial role in helping customers fully utilize their observability and security data. We are seeking technically skilled, customer-focused professionals with a strong background in pre-sales or solution engineering. You will be a trusted advisor, guiding customers on their journey to improved monitoring, security, and observability.

As a senior member of the technical team, you will deliver expert presentations to audiences ranging from engineers to C-level executives, clearly demonstrating the value of the platform’s offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with account executives to strategize and execute on complex technical sales cycles.
  • Deliver engaging presentations and product demos to showcase unique value propositions.
  • Manage the technical aspects of the sales process, including solution sizing, discovery, and running Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Develop customized solutions to enhance the core features of the platform and meet specific client needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the observability and security landscape, offering guidance on best practices and solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in a customer-facing technical role such as pre-sales, solution engineering, or technical architecture.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in managing POCs and technical integrations.
  • Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Java, Go, and Python.
  • Solid understanding of monitoring, observability, log management, and SIEM.
  • Background in Engineering or DevOps is a plus.
  • Experience in the technical sales of observability solutions (log analytics, monitoring, APM, RUM, SIEM) is highly desirable.

Technical Expertise

  • Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Prometheus, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Hands-on experience integrating these technologies into customer environments, creating tailored solutions to meet operational needs.
