Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to accelerate growth within the World Wide Public Sector. You will own the technical engagement, define architectures, and develop expertise in AWS services while advising customers and partners on secure, scalable cloud solutions.

You'll collaborate with sales and engineering to craft strategies, respond to RFPs, and drive successful deployments across government and civil services.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
  • 4+ years of experience in technology domains (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
  • 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ / CCSP / Cloud+ / CSSLP certifications

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects
  • Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs
  • Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and how to build applications on the AWS platform
  • Lead knowledge sharing within the AWS solution architect community
  • Travel up to 30%

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures, responding to RFPs, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and being a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our customers while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solution architect community. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

Ability to travel 30%

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 4+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
  • Experience working with AWS technologies from a dev/ops perspective

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
