Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Sr. Solutions Engineer to independently drive technical engagements, owning discovery, solution design, and platform demonstrations.

You will build proofs‑of‑concepts and live demos, manage frontline customer relationships, and collaborate with Account Executives to expand platform usage. You are a builder who can code, architect, and present, combining technical depth with customer‑facing skills to drive adoption.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre‑sales, or a hands‑on consulting role.
• Proficient in Python and SQL with demonstrated ability to debug, optimize, and write production‑quality code — live coding is a required interview stage
• Hands‑on experience designing and implementing data solutions on at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Working knowledge of distributed data systems: Apache Spark™ Delta Lake or equivalent (Hadoop, Kafka, Flink)
• Experience leading technical customer conversations — discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviews
• Familiarity with one or more: data engineering (ETL/ELT, medallion architecture, streaming), data science/ML (model training, MLOps), or SQL analytics
• Strong presentation and demo skills — you will build and present a live solution during the interview
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
