Job summary

Capital Group in New York is seeking a Solutions Analyst - Capital Markets Assumptions (CMA) to join a collegial team of researchers. You will translate deep investment research into forward-looking CMA inputs that inform asset allocation, portfolio construction, and multi-asset solutions.

You will combine quantitative techniques with fundamental insights to develop robust CMA models, conduct deep-dive research, and partner with investment professionals to ensure robust, explainable CMA

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and maintain Capital Group's long-term capital markets assumptions across global asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and alternatives.
• Develop forward-looking estimates of expected returns, risk, correlations, and other CMA inputs used in asset allocation and portfolio construction.
• Combine quantitative techniques with fundamental and forward-looking investment insights to develop robust CMA frameworks.
• Conduct research on economic and market drivers of asset-class returns, including valuations, income, growth, inflation, rates, credit, currencies, and risk premia.
• Perform research and develop recommendations for CMA assumptions for oversight and governance committees.
• Conduct deep-dives and thematic research on topics affecting long-term CMA outcomes, including macro regimes and evolving asset classes.
• Research capital markets across geographies and currencies and evaluate currency exposure and hedging implications.
• Develop and maintain proprietary analytical models, datasets, and frameworks supporting the CMA process.
• Evaluate existing methodologies and identify opportunities to improve CMA robustness and relevance.
• Partner with investment professionals to incorporate bottom-up perspectives into CMA research.
• Communicate CMA methodology, assumptions, sensitivities, and rationale to Portfolio Managers and other stakeholders.
• Utilize industry publications, external research, market databases, and Capital Group’s proprietary investment resources.
