Job summary

Dematic, part of the KION Group, is seeking a Solution Development Lead to evaluate new and renewal services, cost proposals, and lead a proposal team across multiple US locations. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, and other departments to design safe, low-risk, competitive Dematic solutions and prepare accurate proposals.

The role supports hybrid work from Grand Rapids, MI and other sites, with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree.
• 5-8 years of related field experience.
• Ability to lead, direct, motivate, and coordinate activities of a proposal team.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities with varying deadlines.
• Travel up to 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Develop costing workbooks for opportunities and services assigned.
• Lead the proposal team and present results to Sales and customers.
• Coordinate meetings with Sales and Operations to discuss renewals.
• Monitor assignment schedule and ensure timely completion.
• Deliver complex technical bids and proposals.
• Responds to semi-complex inquiries related to the iProposal tool design, functionality, and usage.
• Initiates reviews with operation stakeholders on costing methodologies and adjusts as needed.
• Coordinates meetings with Sales and Operations to discuss renewals that fall outside the standard costs and documents the agreements.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and work with key stakeholders to ensure that all assignments are completed on time.
• Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as estimating standards, sales proposal standards, etc.

Pertinent information will be documented and provided in support of preparing successful and accurate proposals. They will work with all departments of Dematic to develop safe, low risk, creative and competitive solutions to meet a client’s needs. Where appropriate, they will lead the proposal team in its efforts and present the results to Dematic Sales and possibly to the potential customer. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.# **Om dig:*** Works on medium to large sized, individual projects, where design is complex integrating hardware and software.* Analyzes customers' business requirements and application objectives; develops an application design in products to meet customers' needs and uptime guarantees* Will understand customer operations as well as Dematic products which will then derive staffing levels needed for success as needed* Able to bundle service offerings that are a perfect complement to our new business system solutions* Generates all costing workbooks for opportunities and services assigned* Develops and documents the data need to generate a proposal document and work with the proposal team to ensure accuracy.* Assist in the development of new proposal content for new services.* Monitors assignment schedule and partners with sales on missing information for assignment completion.* Assists with the maintenance of the Dematic proposal boiler plates as assigned.* Respond to semi-complex inquiries related to the iProposal tool design, functionality, and usage* Initiates reviews with operation stakeholders on costing methodologies and adjusts as needed.* Coordinates meetings with Sales and Operations to discuss renewals that fall outside the standard costs and documents the agreements.* Able to manage multiple priorities and work with key stake holders to ensure that all assignments are not only accurate, but are completed on time, according to target completion dates. Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as estimating standards, sales proposal standards, etc. to the Business Development department.* Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.* This role requires flexibility to work remotely as needed based on business demands. **What We Are Looking For:*** BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree* 5-8 years of successful experience in related field.
