The Opportunity

The Solution Design Specialist supports Abbott Molecular Diagnostics by serving as a subject matter expert in automation, workflow, and informatics, primarily for healthcare facilities in the West region of the US. This remote role requires 60-70% travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert and consultant in automation and lean laboratory workflows.
  • Analyze customer data, conduct workflow assessments, and develop solutions with insights and recommendations.
  • Share best practices to enhance instrumentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Support sales teams in achieving revenue goals.
  • Create and disseminate tools to support sales and solutions design.
  • Collaborate with marketing and R&D teams to incorporate customer feedback.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and healthcare policies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in automation, lab skills, and lean workflows
  • Over 3 years in healthcare, with 2+ years in diagnostics/laboratory settings
  • Experience with multisite automation and informatics projects
  • Proficiency in client demonstrations and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel 60-70%

Preferred:

  • Diagnostics experience
  • Knowledge of workflow improvements and Lean/Six Sigma certifications
  • Laboratory design experience
  • Understanding of healthcare IT systems
