Description:

The Digital API Services Solution Specialist position will provide architecture, design and implementation expertise in support of Client’s Digital API Portfolio.

Client is seeking an experienced Java / Web Services / SOA Solutions Architect responsible for Requirements Analysis, Architecture, Design and Development of technical components that drive our multi-channel, multi-tier service‑oriented architecture.

Specific functions include:

• Directs/conducts the analysis of current business processes and functional requirements.
• Directs the analysis of enterprise-wide or very complex client needs in project areas such as new business operating models, innovative approaches to IT solutions support, market research of emerging or available product functionality and operational readiness assessment.
• Create distributed web services for multi-channel Consumer applications to consume.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into architectures and designs.
• Work with engineering team to participate in designs, development, and implementation.
• Develop and deliver quality applications on‑time and that meets project plans and delivery commitments.
• Develop solutions using Java, XML, HTTP, Web Services, SOAP, REST, JSON, SOA and other web technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum ten (10) years of related experience.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on large distributed applications and building/operating highly available systems.
• 10 years of overall development experience and 5+ years of enterprise experience in Java, Web Services, and SOA software development.
• Solid understanding and demonstrated application of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures.
• Understanding of SOA architecture and design concerns.
• Understanding of contemporary RESTful API architecture and design concerns.
• Core competencies in Java, XML, HTTP, Web Services, SOAP, REST, JSON.
• Knowledge of modern design patterns and architectural paradigms, refactoring, loosely coupled, and abstracted software elements.
• 3+ years of Object‑oriented Design and Analysis (OOD and OOA) desired.
• Experience with WebSphere, RAD, JAX-WS and JAX‑RS.
• Experience with frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Camel.
• Experience with Maven, JUnit.
• Results oriented with a delivery focus, especially in the areas of writing high‑performance, reliable, and maintainable code.
• Ability to adapt to new development environments, changing business requirements and learning new systems is highly desired.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
