Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Solution Architect for Data & AI to drive strategic data initiatives and modern architecture across a global team. You will design data platforms, lead data product initiatives, and enable AI-enabled business solutions in a complex financial services environment.

The role emphasizes building scalable data models, governance-aware pipelines, and cloud-native data warehouses using Snowflake on Azure, with experience in ML/GenAI and MLOps helping to transform investment

Qualifications

• Experience with data platforms and cloud-based data solutions.
• Proven ability to design and implement data architectures at scale.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake internals, data pipelines and data warehouse concepts.
• Ability to evangelize AI strategy to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with dimensional modeling and Data Vault/Star schemas.
• Background in Investment/Asset Management is a plus.

Solution Architect – Data & AI

Northern Trust Asset Management is looking for a Solution Architect with strong expertise in building Data and AI business solutions. The candidate would be part of a global dynamic and fast paced team driving strategic data for NTAM.

Key skills required for the role:

• Expertise in solutioning Snowflake on Azure Cloud for complex business needs.
• Demonstrate strong understanding with production enabled AI business tools.
• Evangelize data and AI strategy among stakeholders such as business users and various data teams through design, documentation, review and cross team support.
• Technical expert architecting, building, deploying and maintaining business applications.
• Investment Management or Asset Management experience recommended.
• Leads technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions
• Displays strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principles, scalable patterns, and technology modernization.
• Comfortable with designing the database, data models, data processes, and data warehouse applications leveraging best practices and tools.
• Azure cloud solution architect to provide technologysolutionto business problems, withstrongunderstandingofvarious servicesavailable onazure.
• Leading teams through influence to help build their knowledge on end-to-end solution considerations using domain driven design and other modern engineering practices.
• Data Architect with Data Productmindsetbuilding Strategic Data Platform.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional databaseconceptsand database architecture.
• Strongunderstanding of Snowflake internals, integration and data processing. Experience in configuration,maintenanceand optimization of snowflake databases.
• Deep understanding of relationalandNoSQL data stores,methodsand approaches.
• Experience withDimensional, Star,DataVaultandSnowflakedatamodelling
• Rich Experienceofdesigning and implementation of database models (LDM & PDM), data flow diagrams, database schema, DBscripts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Document application architecture for the business unit across multiple programs.
• Interface with global teams to collaborate work on business deliveries.
• Provide design level functional and technical expertise along with best practices.
• Understand and implement the latest delivery approaches based on cloud architecture
• Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models for large scale technology platforms.
• Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS or Azure) or strong architecture experience
• Advanced analytics techniques using ML, AI, GenAI, Agentic AI and MLOps.

Salary Range:

$137,400 - 233,600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
