The role includes designing and supporting the migration to the EMC VMAX-40K platform, performing necessary software upgrades, and providing service in Banking, GIS, and Securities environments. Perform software upgrades and assist in applying required PTFs.
Provide support for Banking, GIS and Securities environments.
Job description
Design, plan, script and support the tasks required to successfully migrate the Securities workload to EMC VMAX-40K platform.
Perform software upgrades as needed - GDDR 4.1 goes EOSL in March 2016.
Identify any software PTF’s required and assist in the application of the maintenance and coordinate the rollout across all LPARs running EMC mainframe software.
Provide support for the Banking, GIS and Securities environments.
Implement SRDF Automated Recovery to resume replication quickly after an SRDF/A drop.
Work with the account team to ensure all Ingenuity issues that apply to the account, in particular those related to the mainframe software are resolved with immediacy to minimize impact to the account.
Interface with EMC Support and Engineering to resolve any outstanding and/or urgent issues.
Provide Mainframe system support, including SMS, HSM and CA Vantage.
Analyze performance issues.
Provide knowledge transfer for the various EMC products as needed.
Augment the mainframe storage staff as needed.
Assist in training of new staff for faster on boarding.
Develop documentation as needed.
