Job summary

Wipro Limited in the United States (Tampa, FL) is seeking a seasoned Java backend developer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable microservices-based applications. The role emphasizes Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud-native architectures, within an Agile team.

You will contribute to architecture, testing, and CI/CD improvements, using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for deployment and orchestration, and apply AI-assisted tools to boost productivity.

Job Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable Java backend applications and services.
• Develop enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and Oracle.
• Apply strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) across design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Work within an Agile/Scrum delivery team to achieve sprint goals and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to application architecture, technical design, documentation, and engineering standards.
• Design and implement Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, Event-Driven Services, and cloud-native applications.
• Develop high-performance APIs using REST and GraphQL.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex application, coding, integration, and performance issues.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement effective defect resolutions.
• Use Docker for application containerization and Kubernetes/OpenShift for orchestration and deployment.
• Participate in and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, deployments, and release processes.
• Develop and automate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to maintain strong code quality.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve engineering productivity and development efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate software development, build, deployment, and operational processes.
• Communicate technical progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and potential bottlenecks effectively.
