Ryder System, Inc. in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a driving career with weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a strong safety culture.

Deliver SOLO to destinations from North Dakota to Texas and across all eastern states and Canada. Home at least every other weekend. Sleeper trucks with APUs, Dry Van/Conestoga trailers, and passenger/animal policy. Paid training, 24/7 roadside support, and nationwide maintenance locations support your success.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check incl. drug/alcohol verification (last 3 years).
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Class A verifiable tractor trailer experience: 9 months within past 3 years OR 2 years within past 5 years OR 5 years within past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal/state laws, regulations, and agency rules.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading if required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
