Job summary

Maverick Power is seeking a skilled mechanical designer to join our engineering team in Phoenix. You will create precise mechanical designs and detailed 3D models to support manufacturing, working closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to meet specifications and timelines.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of mechanical design experience, an associate degree in a related field, and proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, and weldments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical design experience in manufacturing or product development.
• Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting & Design, or related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, weldments.
• Knowledge of GD&T, welding symbols, tolerances, and manufacturing documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing and assembly.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to meet timelines and specifications.
• Review submittal docs and extract information to inform designs.
• Update drawings and models based on shop floor feedback and redlines.
• Maintain design revision records and ensure proper change communication.
• Coordinate with suppliers to verify CAD data and integrate components into designs.
