Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center is seeking a Transplant RN Registered Nurse Educator to lead education for liver transplant candidates and recipients across hospital and community settings. Under supervision of transplant leadership, you will develop curricula, coordinate staff orientation, ensure CMS-aligned education, and maintain up-to-date competencies and materials for kidney, liver, and heart transplants.

This is a full-time day-shift position based at Milton S.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (state of employment or multistate license).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Two (2) years of experience caring for transplant patients and/or as a Nurse Educator.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute education for heart transplant candidates and recipients (kidney, liver, heart) within hospital and community settings.
• Follow CMS and other regulatory guidelines and adult learning principles in education materials.
• Coordinate staff orientation to transplant and annual training for all units involved with transplant patients.
• Maintain annual competencies and update patient education materials per regulatory standards.
