Job summary

Newco Enterprises, Inc. in Missouri seeks a skilled soldering technician to join our manufacturing team. You will hand solder, rework SMT and through-hole parts, inspect joints, and document repairs according to IPC standards and work instructions.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, proven soldering experience, and strong manual dexterity. Familiarity with schematics and a safety-conscious approach to ESD is required, with IPC certification preferred.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hand soldering and desoldering of electronic components, including through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) parts
• Assemble circuit boards, wiring, and electronic assemblies according to schematics and work instructions
• Inspect solder joints to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., IPC standards)
• Troubleshoot and repair defective electronic assemblies
• Use tools such as soldering irons, hot air rework stations, and microscopes
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions
• Document work performed, including repairs and modifications
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve production issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
• Proven experience in soldering electronic components
• Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
• Basic knowledge of electronic components and circuits
• Good eyesight (corrected vision acceptable)

Preferred Qualifications

• IPC certification (e.g., IPC J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610)
• Experience with surface-mount technology (SMT)
