Job summary

Teledyne Cable Solutions in Dallas, TX is seeking a Solder Assembly Technician to build high-reliability cable and connector assemblies. You will solder, assemble to drawings, and ensure strict workmanship standards before molding, contributing to Teledyne’s reputation for precision and safety.

Requires 5+ years in electro-mechanical assembly, J-STD-001 certification, and ability to read detailed drawings. Shift is 6:00am–2:45pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years electro-mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Must read and follow detailed drawings and instructions.
  • J-STD-001 certification is required; IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fine hand soldering of connectors, splices, sockets, and cable assemblies.
  • Build assemblies by following production drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.
  • Apply accepted workmanship standards across electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Use hand and power tools to fit, assemble, and prepare components.
  • Inspect assemblies and perform basic in-process testing to verify quality.
  • Trim or adjust materials to meet electrical and dimensional specs.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
  • Cross-train across different assembly processes as needed.

Solder Assembly Technician

Teledyne Cable Solutions | Dallas, TX

You play a hands-on role in building high-reliability cable and connector solutions used in demanding applications. As a Solder Assembly Technician, you ensure that every connector, splice, and socket meets strict workmanship and quality standards before entering the molding process. Your attention to detail directly supports Teledyne's reputation for precision, safety, and long-term product performance. You'll work alongside experienced assemblers in a manufacturing environment that values consistency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do
  • Perform fine hand soldering of connectors, splices, sockets, and cable assemblies using magnification
  • Build assemblies by following production drawings, work instructions, and bills of material
  • Apply accepted workmanship standards across electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Use hand and power tools to fit, assemble, and prepare components
  • Inspect assemblies and perform basic in-process testing to verify quality
  • Trim or adjust materials to meet required electrical and dimensional specifications
  • Handle any flammable and hazardous materials safely and in compliance with safety requirements
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Support cross-train across different assembly processes as needed
What you need
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail for small-part soldering – required
  • Ability to read and follow detailed drawings and written/verbal instructions – required
  • Prior hand soldering experience; required wire and cable soldering – preferred
  • 5+ years of electro-mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment – required
  • J-STD-001 certification (current or prior) required
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (current or prior) – preferred
  • High School diploma or GED – required
  • Ability to work the core schedule of 6:00am-2:45pm, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed – required
  • English language proficiency for safety, quality documentation, and communication – required
