A leading solar energy company is seeking a Solar Site Construction Manager in San Jose, California. This role involves overseeing field operations for commercial and utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage facilities. The successful candidate will drive quality, safety, and schedule adherence while leading teams and collaborating with various stakeholders. Candidates should have proven experience in construction and project management, particularly in solar installation, along with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of knowledge of solar PV systems and installation techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members.
  • Proven experience in construction with a focus on solar installation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Experience with commercial BESS installations and fire safety installations.
  • Knowledge of construction safety standards and use of protective gear.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
  • OSHA 10 certification required; preference for OSHA 30.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the installation of solar PV systems on various job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project status and milestones.
  • Collaborate with different project teams, including mechanical and electrical teams, supervisors, laborers and subcontractors in order to meet project milestones and objectives.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that team members understand their roles and responsibilities and are equipped with the necessary resources.
  • Adhere to all required safety protocols (site safety meetings) and procedures on job sites.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that installations meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress, ensuring compliance with documentation requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the VP of Construction and stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, AHJ and fire safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement and commissioning teams as necessary to resolve field issues.

Job description

RNA Services LLC is committed to investing in end-to-end development of local small utility‑scale solar+storage and multi‑customer community microgrids projects. Through this infrastructure improvement we provide emergency power to vulnerable populations and critical facilities during grid outages. Dispatchable renewable energy can transform the traditional grid through decentralized generation and create local resiliency.

We are seeking a Solar Site Construction Manager who will lead field operations for commercial and utility‑scale solar PV and battery energy storage facilities. The role will be instrumental in driving quality, safety and schedule adherence on the assigned active project sites. You will work closely with the VP of Construction during construction and maintenance of the facility to ensure the success of each assigned project.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the installation and connection of solar PV systems for commercial solar facilities from initial stages of layouts through commissioning stages.
  • Execute project plans, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Collaborate with different project teams, including mechanical and electrical teams, supervisors, laborers and subcontractors in order to meet project milestones and objectives.
