Job summary

Moss is seeking a Solar Safety Coordinator to support the EHS team in implementing Moss Solar’s safety programs across multiple sites. The role requires strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations and the ability to lead at project sites.

You will partner with project teams, facilitate trainings, evaluate risks, and ensure compliance with DOT/DOL/EPA requirements. Travel up to 100% is expected across states where Moss operates.

Qualifications

• Associates or BS in Occupational Health and Safety preferred; 3+ years in related field acceptable.
• Knowledge of DOT/DOL/EPA regulations and OSHA safety compliance for power generation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills across diverse cultures.
• Ability to drive company vehicle with clean record.

POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss’ Solar Safety Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team in the development implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Moss Solar’s EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements within an assigned project. This position will achieve that goal by being in a position to lead a project site.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Supports EHS functions on a project site
• Supports the maintenance and implementation of EHS programs, compliance plans, and initiatives on assigned site
• Supports and leads by influence and strategic partnership with project and construction team on assigned site
• Ability to facilitate meetings and training sessions
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate environmental health and safety related risks
• Knowledge of record-keeping principles and practices
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate potential EHS-related risks
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with a team with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education And Work Experience

• Associates or BS in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred) or 3 or more years of experience in a related field
• Must have knowledge of DOT/DOL/EPA regulation and OSHA/industrial safety compliance as they relate to the power generation industry
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
• Effective organization and planning skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to safely drive a company vehicle. Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Demonstrated ability to use standard office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.

REPORTS TO

SOLAR SAFETY MANAGER

This position requires frequent physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds and may occasionally be required to handle loads exceeding that amount with assistance. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, loud noise levels, and extreme temperatures.
