Job summary

Solar Landscape is seeking a Field Quality Leader to oversee rooftop solar installation inspections, coach crews, and uphold top-tier safety and workmanship standards. You will drive on-site quality decisions with data from inspections and defect trends.

Ideal candidates read construction drawings and electrical schematics, understand NEC/OSHA/UL codes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to prevent rework and ensure long-term system performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years of leadership in quality, construction, electrical, or solar roles.
• Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, UL, and local building codes.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coaches, and develops field quality team through on-site presence, real-time feedback, and consistent accountability.
• Makes timely field decisions under pressure using inspection data, defect trends, and risk assessments to prevent rework and long-term asset issues.
• Sets and enforces uncompromising safety and workmanship standards for commercial rooftop installations, ensuring compliance with codes, AHJs, and manufacturer requirements.
• Builds a strong quality culture grounded in integrity, continuous improvement, and ownership of long-term system performance beyond project closeout.
• Perform incoming inspections of solar materials and conduct in-process and final inspections of rooftop installations.
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, electrical schematics, NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Inspect rooftop penetrations, waterproofing, and structural attachments.
• Verify torque values and inspect grounding and bonding systems; ensure proper labeling and safety markings.
• Maintain inspection checklists, installation records, and as-builts; capture photographic evidence.
• Identify and document nonconforming work and support corrective actions.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Leadership

Quality Inspections & Verification

• Perform incoming inspections of solar materials including modules, racking systems, inverters, wire, conduit, and hardware
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of rooftop solar installations
• Verify compliance with engineering drawings, electrical schematics, NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements
• Inspect rooftop penetrations, waterproofing, and structural attachments

Electrical & Mechanical Quality Checks

• Verify torque values on mechanical and electrical connections
• Inspect grounding and bonding systems
• Confirm correct labeling, signage, and safety markings

Documentation & Records Management

• Maintain inspection checklists, installation records, and as-builts
• Capture photographic evidence of installation quality
• Support turnover packages for owners, utilities, and AHJs

Nonconformances & Corrective Action

• Identify and document nonconforming work
• Support corrective actions and verify close-out

Compliance & Audits

• Support internal, customer, utility, and AHJ inspections

Cross-Functional Support

• Collaborate with construction, engineering, operations, safety, supply chain, and subcontractors
• Provide real-time quality feedback and support training

Qualifications

• Experience with conducting employee reviews based on identified goals
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred
• 2+ years of leadership in quality, construction, electrical, or solar roles
• 1–3 years of experience in quality, construction, electrical, or solar roles
• Ability to read construction drawings and electrical schematics
• Familiarity with NEC, OSHA, UL, and local building codes
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile inspection tools
• Valid driver’s license
