Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Ownership, the Specialist will also provide quality control services to third‑party solar contractors, with occasional travel within Florida.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform system performance testing, including electrical checks and safety verifications, using specialized tools such as multimeters and IV curve tracers.
  • Review project documentation, including permits, compliance forms, and installation records, for accuracy and completeness.
  • Document deficiencies with precision and ensure that corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Maintain detailed quality control records and assist with project commissioning to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field crews to maintain quality throughout all project stages.
  • Provide completed checklists for all projects.
  • Conduct unannounced quality checks during ongoing projects to ensure consistent standards.
  • Perform physical tasks, including removing panels, opening electrical enclosures, and checking torque, as part of daily quality control activities.
Required skills & experience:
  • 3-5 years of hands‑on experience with solar PV systems (installation, troubleshooting, or quality control) and in-depth knowledge of NEC electrical codes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with testing tools such as multimeters, IV curve tracers, and thermal imaging, as well as experience in commissioning solar projects.
  • Ability to proficiently read and interpret solar design documents and single‑line diagrams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with teams and leadership.
Tools & systems used:
  • Solar design documents and single‑line diagrams.
  • Testing equipment: multimeters, IV curve tracers, thermal imaging devices, and drones.
  • Project management tools and CRM systems for tracking progress and communication.
  • Mobile inspection and reporting applications for real‑time updates.
Additional requirements:
  • Prepared to perform hands‑on tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights, and handling physically demanding activities daily.
