Job summary

Sletten Construction is seeking a Solar Project Manager to guide solar energy projects from concept through completion. You will coordinate between engineers, crews, clients, and vendors to maintain budgets, schedules, and quality across multiple sites.

The role includes periodic site travel and interfacing with utility and municipal entities. The position is full-time and exempt, requiring strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with OSHA 30 certification, to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with solar/energy projects or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Experience dealing with owner contracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work.
• Experience leading successful project teams and maintaining relationships with clients.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certificate.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Director and Operations in the buyout of the project, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Oversee pay requests, job cost reports and total cost projection reports.
• Review and approve material orders and installation work plans.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors and owners to represent EPC’s core values.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Input bid analysis into project budgets and manage budgets.
• Negotiate subcontractor agreements and material purchases; understand/ write standard contract language.
• Prepare, monitor and report monthly budget variances and forecast costs.
• Ensure subcontractor adherence to contract specifications and performance expectations.
• Process and review Requests for Information; pursue customer change orders.
• Interface with utilities and municipal officials for design, permits, and executions.
• Hold weekly construction meetings with clients; ensure safety meetings and documentation.
• Oversee project commissioning and final reporting.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking aSolar Project Manager.Responsiblefor guiding solar energy projects through their entire lifecycle, from theinitialconcept to final completion. This position orchestrates the various stages of development, including planning, execution, and commissioning, to ensure allobjectivesare successfully met. Functioning asa central pointof contact, the project manager coordinates between engineers, installers, clients, and vendors tomaintainproject cohesion. This involves managing timelines, overseeing budgets, and ensuring that all work adheres to quality and safety standards. Through effective communication and organization, theyalignthe efforts of all parties involved in the installation process. By navigating the complexities of project execution, the Solar Project Manager plays a direct role in bringing renewable energy solutions to life.

This is a full-time,exempt position that will require periodic travel to projectsite’s.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate/participatewith the Project Director and Operations Department in the actual buyout of the project, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts and purchase orders.

• Oversee the pay request process, job costreportand total cost projection reports

• Review and approve material orders and installation work plans

• Develop andmaintaineffective relationships with vendors,subcontractorsand owners torepresentEPC’score values

• Work on concurrent projects and meet deadlines.

• Input detailed bid analysis into project budgets. Prepare and manage project budgets.

• Negotiate subcontractor agreements and material purchases.Haveknowledge of standard contracting practices and the ability to understand,writeand negotiate standard contract language.

• Prepare,monitorand report monthly budget variances andforecast ultimate costs of the project(s) at all times.

• Ensure subcontractor adherence to contract specifications. Develop,communicateand implement subcontractor performance expectations.

• Initiate, prepare,processand review Requests for Information as required by the project.

• Prepare,processand pursue customer change order requests.

• Interface with Public/Private Utility Companies for the design,contractand execution of projects.

• Interface with municipal officialsregardingplan submittals, plan checks,processingand the acquisition of all required permits for the project.

• Hold weekly construction meetings with clients byphoneor in person.

• Manage the approval of material submittals for the project. Assemble,collateand process material submissions to project consultants as well as internal departments withinCompany. Followsubmittalprotocol.Maintain project documentation throughout the course of the project.Prepare project completion materials for Company and customers.

• Ensure safety procedures and safety meetings occur and are documented.

• Oversee project commissioning and final reporting.

Requirements:

• 5+years’ experiencewith solar/energy related projectsorbachelor’s degree in construction managementor engineering.

• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

• Experienced dealing withownercontracts, subcontractors and/or self-performwork.
