Mortenson is seeking a Licensed Electrical Journeyman to provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems in Colorado. Base wage is $34-$38 per hour.

The role requires state license, two years of related experience, and the ability to read plans and work with diverse teams. You will work under safety guidelines and contribute to project success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• State electrical license required.
• Trade or technical school certification/diploma.
• Apprentice aptitude test completion.
• Union-specific training experience.
• Project-specific Mortenson training.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to read English plans; some Spanish a plus.
• Ability to operate electrical equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication.
• Lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and fixtures.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits with meters to ensure safety and compatibility.
• Install and maintain motors, transformers, lights, and circuits.
• Study plans and work orders to determine tasks.
• Maintain high voltage systems.
• Read prints and lay out work; install new service.
• Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and tests.
• Keep supplies ready and organize tools.
• Follow safety standards and regulations.
• Participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge.

Licensed Electrical Journeyman

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an Licensed Electrical Journeyman that will be responsible for providing skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems. Base wage range $34-$38.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Install, repair, and maintain motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations
• Repair and maintain high voltage systems
• Organize work by receiving and studying work orders; gather tools and supplies
• Read prints, layout work, and install new service
• Repair electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components
• Maintain electrical systems by conducting system tests; complete preventive maintenance requirements
• Keep supplies ready by placing orders
• Maintain safe work environment by following standards and procedures; comply with codes
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read technical publications
• Accomplish maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to speak and understand English (Spanish is a plus); some ability to read plans; shown emotional intelligence; ability to operate equipment such as table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems
• Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
