Job summary

ReVision Energy is hiring an Installer-Apprentice to support high-quality solar PV and battery storage installations across residential and commercial sites. The role involves travel with installation teams and participation in the REEAP program to pursue a licensed electrical credential.

REAP participants commit to paid, on-the-job learning and 150 hours of schooling per year for four years, with on-site tasks such as loading equipment and ladder work.

Qualifications

  • Must have a clean and valid driver’s record.
  • Excellent customer service skills in every interaction.
  • Effective coordinate and communicate with others.
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders, work on roofs and in crawl spaces in varying temperatures.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction techniques.
  • Teamwork – able to collaborate with peers and supervisors.
  • Basic computer competence including Excel, Word and internet/email.
  • Must participate in online and in-person electrical training.
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing tasks and ~5 hours/week electrical training during REEAP.
  • Code of Conduct – act as guest at customer homes.
  • Strong desire to work for renewable energy company and develop professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Installer/Project Manager with quality solar electric installations.
  • Assist with project loading to ensure all materials and tools arrive on the job site.
  • Assist with overall crew and job site safety.
  • Help maintain tools and trucks in excellent condition.
  • Assist with general site preparation and clean up.
  • Participate in and satisfactory completion of our in‑house Apprentice program through RETC.
  • Travel to job sites as needed
  • Complies with DOT laws and requirements when operating a regulated vehicle.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Description

This position is part of the installation team responsible for the highest quality installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems for our clients. This position includes, but is not limited to, travelling and working with our solar PV installation teams in both residential and commercial settings. Individuals in this position are also required to participate in the ReVision Energy Electrical Apprenticeship Program (REEAP) , an education program that qualifies apprentices to earn a highly valuable electrical license.

This program is provided to Installer-Electrical Apprentices at no cost and includes paid, on-the-job learning (e.g., loading/unloading equipment, staging and ladder work, using hand tools and carrying equipment on rooftops, installing conduit, and wiring). In order to meet apprenticeship and licensing requirements, REEAP participants are also required to commit to 150 hours of unpaid schooling per year for four years.

Requirements

  • Basic computer competence including Excel, Word and other commonly used software, including internet and email.
  • Must be able to effectively participate in online and in-person electrical training.
  • Demonstrated commitment to completing job tasks and an average of five hours per week on electrical training during the 30‑week REEAP academic year.
  • Code of Conduct – act accordingly as a guest at our customer’s home.
  • Strong desire to work for a renewable energy company, and interest in developing professionally.
