McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Solar Installer to safely install solar equipment at the Paragonah, UT project site. You will work with a crew to assemble and secure solar modules, torque tubes, and related hardware in accordance with project plans and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 18+.
  • Solar construction experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience using tools to install mechanical assemblies.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
  • Able to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Weather-ready for heat, cold, and precipitation.
  • Good hand/arm/vision coordination and color perception.
  • Self-motivated with strong teamwork and reliability.
  • Reliable attendance required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean job site and move materials to the field.
  • Bolt up clamps for solar panels.
  • Hoist torque tubes into position and align/secure them.
  • Set drive motors.
  • Install dampeners and linkage between motors.
  • Set and install solar modules.
  • Tighten bolts to specified torque.
  • Receive/stock materials and maintain inventory.
  • Quality control for the scope of work.

Position Summary

The Solar Installer is part of the team responsible for the safe and successful installation of various solar equipment at the Paragonah, UT project site. This role utilizes a wide variety of tools and equipment to assemble and construct solar systems in accordance with scheduled work plans. The Solar Installer may also be assigned additional duties as required by project leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean job site and shake out material to the field.
  • Bolt up clamps for solar panels.
  • Hoist torque tubes into position and align/secure torque tubes.
  • Set drive motors.
  • Installation of dampeners and linkage between drive motors.
  • Set and install solar modules.
  • Tighten bolts to the proper torque specifications.
  • Receive/stock materials and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Quality control for the scope of work.
  • When using equipment fill out equipment checklist and verify all items are in good working order, if not report the issue prior to damage occurring. Follow up with supervisor continually if not addressed.
  • Maintain tools used for installation to ensure they are in proper working condition and return tools at the end of work shift.
  • General cleanup of materials and debris.
  • Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized
  • All other duties assigned by site leadership
Qualifications
  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Experience with solar construction projects preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience using various tools that are required to install mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling of material weighing 50 lbs.
  • Ability to squat, crawl and work in awkward positions and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
  • Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and color perception.
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
