Overview
The Installer is a critical member of a solar installation construction team, working with the Foreperson and Lead Installer to complete residential solar installation projects in partnership with our mission to provide affordable clean energy.
Responsibilities
- Ensure personal, crew and job site safety at all times and participate in training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
- Review inventory at the loading dock to ensure the crew truck is adequately stocked.
- Complete layout and assemble solar modules, racking, mechanical and structural mounts, electrical equipment and tools in preparation of installation as specified in the project plan.
- Apply weather sealing to roofing structure, building or support mechanisms.
- Perform project clean‑up, including client site and installation vehicle to maintain a clean and orderly job site.
Qualifications
- Previous solar, construction or military experience preferred but not required.
- Adheres to company safety policies and procedures, able to identify and report hazards, and encourage safe work.
- Communicates courteously with customers and coworkers.
- Demonstrated ability to meet due dates, metrics and impact results individually and as a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Demands
- Transport materials and equipment up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Work on rooftops at various angles; frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing and balancing.
- Climb ladders and work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet and humid environments.
- Utilize hand functions requiring fine motor skills: fine manipulation, grasping, pinching.
- Use personal protective equipment such as ladders, fall protection harnesses and other PPE.
- Maintain balance on roofs, walk on rafters, roof tiles and shingles; distinguish colors; work in confined spaces such as attics, basements and crawl spaces.
- Hear verbal commands and warnings; work with chemicals using appropriate protections.

Compensation: $20.83 to $27.77 per hour, paid biweekly, with eligibility for performance‑based bonus compensation.
