Job summary

Otovo is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to service and repair residential and commercial solar energy systems, batteries, and generators in El Paso, TX and surrounding areas. This role requires hands-on electrical work, problem-solving, and strong customer service.

You will diagnose, maintain, and repair PV systems, ensure NEC/AHJ compliance, and document all work with detailed reports. Local travel and overtime may be required for warranty and emergency calls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of electrical experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience using electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel locally and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair solar panels, inverters, batteries, generators, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance including panel cleaning, wiring inspections, inverter testing, and battery health assessments.
• Commission new systems and upgrades while ensuring compliance with NEC, AHJ, and utility requirements.
• Utilize diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and thermal imaging equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and photo documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage, lockout/tagout processes, and fall protection requirements.
• Respond to emergency service calls and warranty-related repairs as needed.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners and customers regarding system status and repair recommendations.
• Represent Otovo professionally at customer sites.
