Responsibilities
  1. Lead and coordinate engineering activities for the technical support, design, and development of commercial solar and energy storage systems.
  2. Hire, supervise, support, and develop the engineering team.
  3. Assist the engineering project management team as needed, understanding all aspects of their responsibilities.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with clients.
  5. Assess current SOPs and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  6. Ensure projects are completed efficiently, accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
  7. Negotiate contracts with outside vendors.
  8. Manage relationships and expectations with engineering consultants and equipment vendors.
  9. Review engineering work for accuracy and compliance with engineering principles.
  10. Review RFPs and contract documents.
  11. Act as liaison with Project Management regarding engineering progress, quality, scope issues, and interface with customers on technical questions/concerns.
  12. Research latest technologies and best practices.
Education & Experience
  • Degree in engineering, electrical preferred.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of PV design engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience.
  • Battery/Storage experience is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Proficiency in solar system design tools (Helioscope, AutoCAD, PVsyst).
  • NABCEP Design Specialist Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electric (NEC) and Fire codes.
  • Experience in preparing electrical engineering design packages.
