Job summary

Texas State Technical College seeks an Instructor to deliver classroom, laboratory, and field-based instruction in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and electrical technologies. You will prepare students for employment with hands-on training aligned to industry standards and safety regulations.

You will develop lesson plans, assess competency, and promote professional standards while collaborating with industry partners and program accreditation bodies.

Qualifications

• Verifiable experience with solar PV systems.
• Ability to teach AC and DC circuits and electrical theory.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements for solar installations.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical layouts.
• Familiarity with battery storage systems and safety practices.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, lab, and field-based instruction in solar PV and related electrical technologies.
• Develop lesson plans, materials, and assessments aligned with industry standards.
• Teach safety standards including PPE and NEC requirements.
• Provide hands-on training in circuits, wiring, and component installations.
• Evaluate student performance through practical and written assessments.
• Support program accreditation and industry partnerships.
